 Winning my first photography contest in 1977 in the days when photographic manipulation was done in a dark room with chemicals> Since then the practice of photography has changed ( the principles have not ) in the intervening period. With these changes, the modern digital photographer's skills have moved from a physical darkroom to darkroom contained within a computer. Professional digital photography and digital image processing and photo retouch go hand-in-hand.
